A letter to Mansukh Patel

Dear Mansukh, "Avenues of love" ( Liefde voor waarheid): That is the title of a beautiful video series with you in the leading part, shown on Dutch television for the first time in 1996. You deeply touched lots of people with this and tempted them to keep following you. Now, after all those years this title has a totally different meaning to us. The truth is not clear and not much love is left either. You are accused of assault and of sexual abuse of (among others) a child, and former members of the Life Foundation (International) are not very positive either. Some tell us stories of how they were treated and/or sent away from ‘the Family’ in a degrading way. Probably you and your colleagues deny everything and label all the criticism as other people’s shortcomings, fear or ego. We do not know if your intentions were originally pure, whether the power and fame have gone to your head. We will probably never know what goes on in your mind, what your problems and issues are. But how many people have already been victims of your false steps? A number of people do not dare to talk or write about what they experienced, others just can’t believe it, again others really think that you are some kind of God who can do everything and always knows best. Lots of people will never dare to criticize you because you hold the Holy Bhagavad Gita in your hand.

And still, we think you are a beautiful person, not necessarily because of your magic charisma, your wise teaching and great books, but just because you are a beautiful, unique and valuable being like all other living beings. We know how hard it must be for you to transform all the suffering into harmony and peace for all who are involved, otherwise you would already have done that. Maybe it is time to take a rest, and meditate at your World Peace Flame on all the victims of abuse, mind control, mental and emotional damage and exploitation worldwide. And maybe you can practice your own Dru Yoga and study your own books, especially the last one: 'Peace starts within'.
